# Privacy Policy for DumbPhone

This Privacy Policy applies to the DumbPhone launcher app (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for Android. We take your privacy very seriously. Because our goal is to provide a distraction-free environment, we have designed DumbPhone to operate entirely on your device.
## 1. Data Collection and Usage
DumbPhone **does not collect, transmit, distribute, or sell** any of your personal data to third parties. The app operates completely offline and does not even request Internet permissions.
To provide its core launcher functionality, DumbPhone requires certain Android permissions. Here is how that data is used locally on your device:
### Installed Applications (`QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES`)
As a home screen replacement (launcher), DumbPhone needs to know which apps are installed on your device so that you can launch them, add them to your home screen, or restrict them. This list of installed apps is stored locally in the app’s database and is never sent off your device.
### Calendar Data (`READ_CALENDAR`)
DumbPhone requests calendar access to display your upcoming events directly on your minimal home screen. Calendar data is only read locally to display this information and is never stored, tracked, or transmitted by us.
### Notifications (`BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE`)
To help you minimize distractions, DumbPhone may read incoming notifications to either display them minimally or filter them according to your settings. The content of your notifications is processed strictly on your device and is never saved to a remote server.
## 2. Local Storage
Any settings you configure in the app—such as your restricted apps list, daily unlock counts, and custom tile arrangements—are saved in a local database on your device (`Room` database). If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted.
## 3. Third-Party Services
DumbPhone does not integrate with any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs. There are no ads and no tracking mechanisms in the app.
## 4. Children’s Privacy
Our app does not contain ads or online tracking. It is safe for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
## 5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Since the app does not connect to the internet, we cannot notify you automatically. We will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy whenever changes are made on the Play Store listing.
